Why no iron
Iron is left out on purpose.
Iron needs vary a lot from person to person, and iron competes with calcium and zinc for absorption. Leaving it out keeps those minerals working and lets you add iron separately, only if your bloodwork calls for it.
Do not stop or start iron on your own. That is a conversation for your provider.
Aimee answers: why no iron?
The label
Everything included. Iron left out.
- Iron-free. Left out on purpose. Ask your provider whether you need iron and how much.
- Choline, 950 mg. Supports your baby’s brain and spinal cord development.* Choline is the bottle most women end up buying separately. Here it is built in.
- DHA + EPA, 390 mg. Omega-3s that support your baby’s brain and eye development.* Built in, so there is no second bottle.
- Active folate (5-MTHF), 400 mcg. The form the body can use directly.* No folic acid.
- CoQ10, 100 mg. Supports cellular energy production.*
- Vitamin D3 800 IU, magnesium 200 mg, calcium 200 mg, plus active B vitamins. Steady support for bones, energy and everyday function.*
- Third-party tested for heavy metals, microbial contamination and label accuracy. Made in the USA in an FDA-registered, cGMP-certified facility.

The part nobody says out loud
Most prenatals get bought. Fewer get finished.
The bag is still half full at the end of the month, and it is almost never a willpower problem. It is a format problem.
A good prenatal usually arrives as a handful of pills at different times of day. Then the label turns out to be light on choline, so there is a second bottle. The omega-3s are separate, so there is a third. And most of them carry an iron dose that a lot of women would rather talk over with their provider first.
Mothersense takes the iron out and puts the choline and omega-3s in. One sachet, once a day, with a meal.
How it’s built
Split-form delivery.
Three bioavailable formats, one sachet. Nothing is compressed into a form it doesn’t belong in.
01Oil-based nutrients go in softgels.
DHA and EPA, the choline compounds and CoQ10 are fat-soluble. They are carried in an oil base rather than pressed dry into a tablet.*
02Minerals go in tablets, many as chelates.
Zinc, copper and manganese come as bisglycinate chelates, selenium as glycinate, and magnesium and calcium as malates, alongside methylfolate and the active B vitamins.*
03Iron is left out on purpose.
Mothersense leaves iron out, so it can be added only if your provider and your bloodwork call for it.
That is why one day of Mothersense is seven pieces, three tablets and four softgels, sealed in a single sachet, instead of one tablet that had to leave things out to fit.
Why it exists
“The prenatal I wish existed when I needed it most.”
Aimee, Founder of Mothersense™
“When I started researching prenatal supplements, I was surprised by what I found. Many formulas didn’t include the nutrients that current research highlights as essential. Others used forms that aren’t well-absorbed. And very few were built with input from clinicians who work directly with women during pregnancy.”

Questions
The ones that actually come up.
Do I still need iron?
Iron needs in pregnancy vary from person to person. Ask your provider whether you need iron and how much. If they recommend it, take it separately as directed.
“My doctor said the brand doesn’t matter.”
Many prenatals do the basics well. Where they differ is iron, choline, the form of the folate, and whether the omega-3s are in the sachet or sold separately. That is worth ten seconds with the label. Bring ours to your provider. We built it to be read.
Does it contain folic acid?
No. Folate comes as 5-MTHF (methylfolate), 400 mcg.
Seven pieces is a lot. Isn’t that the opposite of easy?
Seven pieces, one sachet, once a day, with a meal. The count is what it takes to carry this much nutrition in forms the body can actually use. What changes is the number of decisions: one sachet instead of a prenatal, a choline bottle, an omega-3 bottle and a pill organiser.
What if I miss a day?
Take the next sachet at your next meal. Every sachet is identical, so there is nothing to re-sequence and nothing to count.
What allergens does it contain?
It contains soy. The softgels contain gelatin, so Mothersense is not vegetarian.
